Why I’m Doing This
I run businesses. Plural. There are shelves, schedules, sponsors, staff meetings, marketing calendars, and other things that must be posted at the “right” time. There is always something to promote, something to launch, something to announce. And that’s fine. I chose this life. I love building things.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something strange. People know what I build. They see the bookstore, the radio station, the events, and the memberships. They see the projects, the movement, and the momentum. What they don’t always see is me outside of those roles.
This blog isn’t a strategy. It isn’t a funnel. There is no master plan hiding behind it. I’m not building an email list with a secret upsell at the end. I just wanted a place to write once a week about the things that don’t belong in a bookstore caption or a business update.
There are parts of life that don’t fit neatly on a shelf. Health. Grief. Leadership. Exhaustion. The strange humor that shows up in the middle of hard things. The ordinary Tuesdays that feel like small victories. I don’t always have a place to put those thoughts. So this is it.
You can follow it or not. Truly. If you enjoy it, subscribe. If you don’t, that’s fine too. I won’t be measuring this by clicks or conversions. I’m not trying to grow it into something bigger. I’m just trying to be a little more honest about the human behind the businesses.
The bookstore is the front of the house. This is the hidden room behind the bookshelf.
There’s more here than what you see.
And if you’re curious, you’re welcome to step inside.
